Umiya Mata ji
Brass idol Shree Maa Umiya, the omnipotent goddess of the universe is the social kuldevi of the kadva patidar. Maa Umiya gave birth to the universe as a mother goddess.
Umiya Mataji is the Kuldevi (family deity) of the Tomar clan of Rajputs. She is also considered as the incarnation of Goddess Lakshmi, the consort of Lord Vishnu. Umiya Mataji is worshipped mainly in the states of Rajasthan, Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh.
A grand and majestic shrine dedicated to Umiya Mataji is situated in Unjha, Gujarat. This shrine is known as the Laksh Chandi Mahayagna Mandir and is considered as one of the most sacred places of worship in Gujarat. Every year, a grand yagna (ritual fire sacrifice) is organised at this shrine in the month of Shravan (July-August). Thousands of devotees from all over the country participate in this yagna to seek blessings from Umiya Mataji.
