How to Compare Marble Murti Quotes Properly

Two quotes for the "same" murti are rarely comparable. Normalise these variables before choosing on price.

A quote is only meaningful next to an identical specification. Normalise first, then compare.

Normalise these five variables

  1. Marble type and grade. Makrana, Vietnam white or composite, and which grade.

  2. Height. Measured the same way — with or without the crown.

  3. Scope. Single block or joined, plain or painted, base included or not.

  4. Weight. Finished weight is the strongest indicator of real stone volume.

  5. Delivery terms. Ex-works or delivered, insured or not, duty included or not.

Then compare

Once those five are equal, price becomes a fair comparison. Before that, you are comparing different products.

Watch for what is excluded

Packing, crating, freight, insurance and duty are frequently excluded from headline quotes. Ask for an all-in figure for your address.

Weight is the strongest signal

Two pieces of the same size from the same stone should weigh broadly the same. A large gap usually indicates a lighter, less dense material.

Prefer transparency over the lowest number

A slightly higher quote that states the grade, block size and packing is better value than a cheap quote that omits all three.

Frequently asked questions

Why are marble murti quotes hard to compare?

Because they often describe different grades, scopes and delivery terms. Normalise stone grade, height, scope, weight and delivery before comparing price.

Is finished weight a reliable indicator of value?

It is a strong indicator of real stone volume. Two same-sized pieces from the same stone should weigh broadly the same.

What costs are usually excluded from a murti quote?

Packing, crating, freight, insurance and import duty are commonly excluded. Ask for an all-in figure to your address.
